Open Hanoimoi Run Tournament for Peace launched

Nhan Dan Online – The 41st Open Hanoimoi Run Tournament for Peace 2014 was officially launched on June 28 at the Indoor Athletics Palace in Hanoi with the participation of 1,500 people of all ages.

The event aims to celebrate a variety of milestones, including the 69th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), the 60th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day, the 15th anniversary of Hanoi's UNESCO recognition as a City for Peace and the 57th anniversary of Hanoimoi newspaper. It has also become a large-scale mass movement, actively contributing to Hanoi’s cultural life.

The races have attracted the participation of the diplomatic corps, embassy staff members, and international friends working and living throughout the nation.

According to the plan, around 100,000 students and 50,000 officials, workers and soldiers will take part in races in 30 districts and towns across the city of Hanoi from June 28.

The final round of the running event is scheduled to take place in October, 2014.
