Party chief offers incense to commemorate late General Secretary Le Duan

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong offered incense to commemorate Party General Secretary Le Duan at his private residence on July 9, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the comrade’s death (July 10, 1986-2016).

Comrade Le Duan was born on April 7, 1907 to a working-class family with a strong tradition of patriotism in Trieu Phong district, central Quang Tri province. After nearly 60 years of revolutionary operation and 26 years of continuity in his position as the Party’s First Secretary and General Secretary, comrade Le Duan devoted his life to the struggle for national liberation, reunification and socialist construction.

General Secretary Le Duan displayed steadfast political leadership and was of great wisdom to Vietnam's revolution. He is a shining example of infinite loyalty to the Party and the revolution, to the motherland and the people, and to the communist ideology.

Party General Trong respectfully offered incense to commemorate the late General Secretary’s contribution to the country, the nation, the Party and the people. Expressing his profound gratitude to comrade Le Duan, General Secretary Trong emphasised that consistently following the path that the Party and President Ho Chi Minh selected, the entire Party, people and the armed forces are striving to uphold solidarity and determination to overcome difficulties and challenges, taking advantage of opportunities to successfully implement the objectives and tasks as set out in the 12th National Party Congress, contributing to building a strong Party in a prosperous and civilised country.

Party General Secretary Trong wished relatives of General Secretary Le Duan good health and happiness in order to uphold the family tradition to make further contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
