The services in tribute of the professor were attended by thousands of students, teachers, and representatives from international organisations, along with senior Vietnamese leaders.
Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha, and former President Truong Tan Sang paid homage to Prof. Phan Huy Le at the Funeral House.
Party General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, and other senior leaders sent wreaths to pay tribute to Prof. Phan Huy Le.
Former President, Truong Tan Sang, wrote in the funeral book expressing his sorrow over the passing of Prof. Phan Huy Le, the leading historian and talent of the Vietnamese history sector. He also conveyed his condolence to the family and relatives of the historian.
Phan Huy Le, a historian known for being the author and co-author of more than 400 works on Vietnamese history, passed away on June 23 at the age of 84.
The memorial services for Prof. Phan Huy Le were held from 7:30-10:00AM and the burial ceremony was held at 1PM at the Vinh Hang Cemetery, Hanoi, on the same day.
