The digital platform “A80 – Proud of Viet Nam,” including a website at https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn and a mobile app “A80 – Proud of Viet Nam,” was launched and immediately attracted great public attention.
This is because the grand celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s success (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2 – 2025) comprises numerous events, programmes, and activities taking place over a period of about half a month, making it difficult for the public, especially tourists from other provinces and international visitors to Ha Noi, to follow and keep track.
The “A80 – Proud of Viet Nam” digital platform serves as Ha Noi’s official information portal, providing complete information for everyone to learn and access. Users can download the app from the App Store or Google Play and use it easily. More than just an official information source, the platform also offers many other utilities to serve the needs of residents and tourists.
The interface of the “A80 – Proud of Viet Nam” website is designed with a festive and modern spirit imbued with the cultural identity of Thang Long – Ha Noi.
Prominently displayed on the homepage are images of President Ho Chi Minh reading the “Declaration of Independence” and the marching parade, symbolising sacred historical spirit. Content sections are laid out clearly and intuitively for ease of use, from the list of events and the image-video library to the digital map for real-time event lookup.
To develop this digital platform, the Ha Noi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with VCCorp Joint Stock Company.
Deputy General Director of VCCorp Nguyen Dang Ngoc said: “When developing the digital platform ‘A80 – Pride of Viet Nam’, we, together with the Municipal Department of Culture and Sports and other relevant units, always put ourselves in the position of the people. In a series of such events, what do people need and want? From there, we built solutions to provide information and utilities so that everyone can easily explore and access them. One of the technologies we invested in is a digital map, where events take place and how to get there. These are questions many people will ask. Event locations were added to the map to meet this need. The next issue is that when coming to Ha Noi to attend events, people will have needs for transportation, dining, and accommodation, or might even fall ill. Therefore, information on these services must be provided.”
One of the most popular features is the platform’s “virtual assistant” role. The Ha Noi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports and related parties used an AI-powered chatbot to support people in finding activities and services. Instead of only interacting via text input, this virtual assistant can interact via voice in both English and Vietnamese. It not only provides guidance but can also create reminders for event schedules in real time.
Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Mai Huong said: “This is not only an electronic information portal but also a smart assistant to help residents and tourists explore and experience the city’s commemorative activities. The “A80 – Proud of Viet Nam” application will serve as a bridge connecting the past, present, and future, enabling every citizen to relive and reflect on the values of the nation’s history.”
Regarding updates on the website https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn or the application, Tran Thi Mai Dung, Head of the Press, Publishing, and Communications Division, said the Ha Noi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports, along with other departments and sectors, has established an inter-agency coordination mechanism. Units participating in the organisation of events and activities in the commemorative series are responsible for providing information to the editorial team, which is updated continuously throughout the day. Whenever there is any activity, the content team will update, review, and publish it, ensuring the platform operates effectively and meets public needs.
