[Photos] The National Assembly through different terms

On January 6, 1946, through democratic, equal, direct elections by secret ballot, the people elected the first National Assembly, marking a new stage in the development of the independent Vietnamese State.

Over 15 terms, the National Assembly has made significant contributions to the cause of national liberation as well as the construction, protection and development of the country, worthy of being the highest representative body of the people and the highest state authority.

On August 16, 1945, more than 60 delegates attended the National Congress convened by the Viet Minh Front at Tan Trao communal house (Tuyen Quang), deciding to launch the General Uprising.
