The Government leader made the remark during his reception for Chinese Minister of Agriculture Han Changfu in Hanoi on October 14.
He highly appreciated the partnership between the two agriculture ministries over the past 70 years, particularly the practical collaboration outcomes attained recently with the signing of a number of agreements on farm produce trade.
Trade ties between Vietnam and China have expanded strongly over the years, with Vietnam being the biggest trade partner of China among ASEAN members, the host said.
He proposed that the two countries strengthen partnership in science and technology, asking the Chinese side to support Vietnam in training agricultural experts (concerning plant varieties and biotechnology).

The two sides should work closely to popularise knowledge to their fishermen about the memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in releasing and protecting aquatic resources in the Gulf of Tonkin, which was signed between the two agriculture ministries in January 2017, the PM said.
He called for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in dealing with the issues related to fishing boats and fishermen, and the acceleration of the negotiation and signing of a bilateral agreement on the formulation of a hotline for unexpected incidents in fishing activities at sea.
For his part, Han Changfu thanked the Vietnamese PM for having supported the two countries’ agricultural cooperation.
He informed the leader of the outcomes of his talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Cuong, voicing his belief that Vietnam-China agricultural cooperation will continue to thrive, especially as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties next year.
