At the meeting, PM Chinh conveyed greetings of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong to leaders of the JCP.
He informed Shii of the successful holding of the 13th National Party Congress this February, which defined the roadmap and specific measures to build a prosperous Vietnam, and transform the country into a developing nation with upper-middle income by 2030 and a developed and high-income nation by 2045.
The Congress also affirmed Vietnam’s consistent external policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification, multilateralism, active and proactive international integration; and being a friend, a trustworthy partner and a responsible member of the international community.
The Vietnamese leader welcomed achievements by the JCP over the recent past, notably the successful organisation of its 28th Congress, thereby further playing a significant role in Japan’s politics.
He highly valued trust and traditional solidarity between the two Parties, underlining that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember, treasure and be grateful to the sentiments and support from the JCP and people of Japan during the struggle for national liberation in the past and country construction and safeguarding at present.
He rejoiced that the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership has flourished across multiple fields, with a high level of political trust.
PM Chinh asked Shii and his party to continue to pay attention to, support and promote the cooperation and exchanges between the countries and Parties, as well as increase the exchange of delegations and dialogue mechanisms, firstly a theoretical consultation between the CPV and JCP.
He also requested the Japanese side to support Vietnam to successfully carry out its socio-economic strategies and plans.
For his part, Shii appreciated and spoke highly of the official Japan visit by PM Chinh, believing that it will contribute to bolstering the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership across all fields.
