At the meeting, the government leader was briefed on the operations of the Yen Khuong Border Station, as well as the lives of local residents and soldiers in the area.
Yen Khuong Commune, home to 1,126 households with 5,562 residents, is one of the most disadvantaged and least accessible communes in Thanh Hoa Province.
The Yen Khuong Border Station is responsible for managing and protecting a seven-kilometre stretch of the border with Laos in the commune.
The border station has firmly safeguarded border security, strengthened relations with local residents, and created stable conditions for local socio-economic development.
Prime Minister praised the Yen Khuong Border Station for successfully fulfilling its mission, particularly in building a drug-free commune, contributing to socio-economic development, and improving the people’s living standards.
He asked the border station to continue staying close to the people, supporting them with housing, livelihoods, healthcare and education, as well as working with other forces to ensure effective border protection.
