The prime minister stressed that the guiding objectives and principles for ensuring aviation safety and security are: “Aviation safety and security must never be compromised for any reason” and “No violation is too small; even the slightest error can carry the risk of a catastrophic accident.”

It emphasises maintaining an effective and efficient aviation safety and security management system that meets international standards and complies with Vietnamese law, while promoting the dissemination and communication of aviation safety and security regulations.

The prime minister has instructed the Ministry of Construction to conduct a comprehensive review and improve legal provisions on ensuring aviation safety so as to comply with relevant international treaties to which Viet Nam is a party, while addressing shortcomings and limitations in current regulations. This includes drafting the replacement Law on Civil Aviation of Viet Nam and its system of guiding documents, ensuring timely completion.

The Ministry of Public Security is to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Construction in drafting the replacement Law on Civil Aviation of Viet Nam, with the aim of perfecting aviation security policies that meet the demands of the current situation as well as the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
