Accordingly, the opera will be introduced to the audience at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on July 17, the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on July 20, and the Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa in Da Nang City on July 23.

The shows will feature the participation of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsugi, who is the director general of the project.

The project, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam, is based on a real love story between Japanese merchant Araki Sotaro and Princess Ngoc Hoa (called Princess Anio by the Japanese) in Hoi An, Vietnam, during the trading era of the Shuinsen in the early 17th century.

Vietnamese female sopranos Dao To Loan and Bui Thi Trang play the princess, while Japanese male tenors, Kobori Yusuke and Yamamito Kohei, take the role of her lover.

The opera has been introduced in Vietnam and Japan and has received much appreciation from art enthusiasts in the two countries.
