The opening ceremony was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Defence as well as other ministries, sectors, and localities.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics - Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet hailed the robust development of literature and arts activities in the army, stressing that many generations of artist-soldiers have promoted their creativity and contributed many valuable works to Vietnam’s revolutionary literature and arts.
Their works have not only portrayed the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers but have also encouraged the people and army to overcome difficulties and move forward, he stated.
The festival attracted the participation of 19 professional army’s art troupes as well as those from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, and Thai Nguyen Province.
The event, held jointly by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, and centrally run literary and artistic associations, will run at the Military Theatre in Hanoi until October 21.
