The programme features three classic films that vividly depict historic milestones and the cultural beauty of Ha Noi.
“Phia Bac Thu Do”, directed by Huy Thanh and released in 1977, tells a story of love, family, and the workers tasked with protecting the Yen Phu Power Plant during the American bombings of Ha Noi.
“Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca”, directed by Dao Ba Son, released by Giai Phong (Liberation) Film Studio in 2010, which was awarded a Golden Kite Award that year, narrates the love story between To Nhu, the literary name of celebrated poet Nguyen Du, and Cam, a renowned courtesan in Thang Long - Ha Noi. The film vividly portrays the customs, traditions, and lifestyle of ancient Thang Long. The film won the Golden Kite Award for Best Feature Film from the Viet Nam Cinema Association in 2010.
The film "Ha Noi 12 Ngay Dem", directed by People’s Artist Bui Dinh Hac, depicts the aerial battle of the Ha Noi bombing campaign, a fierce struggle against the B-52 air strikes in December 1972. It highlights the resilience and courage of the Vietnamese people during this defining moment in the city’s history. The work received the Silver Lotus Award at the 14th Viet Nam Film Festival.
All screenings will begin at 9 am and are open free of charge to film enthusiasts and those wishing to explore Ha Noi’s history and culture.
