With the theme "80 years of timeless resounding epic songs," the festival aims to evaluate the results of mass art movements at the grassroots level, provide opportunities for units within and outside the military to exchange experiences and identify ways to enhance the quality of the movements in the future.

The festival has contributed to the success of the cultural and arts festival in Ho Chi Minh City and left many deep impressions and good feelings with southern audiences.

The art festival is part of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defense Festive Day, the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, and the 138th anniversary of International Labour Day.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, underlined that the festival showed the strong will and determination to implement mass art and culture movements of the armed forces, contributing to popularising the people and troops across the country, about the military-civilian ties; glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 80 years of building, fighting, and growth; traditions of the Vietnam People’s Public Security force; synergy in the cause of national construction and protection; and the cultural beauty of young Vietnamese people and students in the Ho Chi Minh era, to name but a few.

The songs and art performances have been carefully prepared, vividly reflecting the lives of troops in studying, working, training and combat readiness, contributing to spotlighting the good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, arousing patriotism among troops, youths and students, and promoting the “All people stay united to build cultural life" movement.

The organising committee also honoured the most outstanding performances, and 14 collectives and 29 individuals with outstanding achievements in ensuring and serving the festival also received Certificates of Merit from the Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs.
