Seventy years ago, after the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Geneva Agreement was signed, establishing peace throughout the entire territory of Vietnam. Consequently, the country was temporarily divided into two regions, North and South, with the plan to hold a general election in two years to unify the nation. The 17th parallel was designated as the boundary between the two regions.
