The 42nd National Television Festival is not only a festival for television workers but also an opportunity to honour outstanding works and encourage creativity in the context of strong digital media development.

The remark was made by Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, at the opening ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilisation, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association; Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television and Chairman of the 42nd National Television Festival; Phosy Keomanivong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Laos; Simmanny Keokene, General Director of Lao National Television; as well as representatives of leaders and former leaders of central and local agencies and delegates from the television stations, radio-television stations and participating units from across the country.

Co-organised by Vietnam Television in coordination with Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, the 42nd National Television Festival is taking place from March 19 to 22.

The festival featured the participation of more than 1,000 journalists, directors and experts from television units across the country.

Within the framework of the festival, in addition to the main activities, there are many important sideline events such as: the opening of a television technology exhibition; a workshop on "Skills of television journalists in the digital environment"; and a workshop on "Data mining and application of artificial intelligence to serve digital transformation for television stations".

These are practical contents, helping TV stations improve content quality, innovate production methods and approach audiences in a modern way.

This is the first time the National Television Festival has been held in Binh Dinh, a land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions, the homeland of the Tay Son movement associated with the name of the national hero Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue.

With 734 entries from 100 units, the National Television Festival will continue to affirm its own appeal. The highlight of the Festival is the judging and awarding of prizes for 11 categories including: Children's Programmes, Documentaries, Reports, Short Reports, Science and Education Programmes, Dialogue-Discussion Programs, Ethnic Minority Language Television Programmes, Music and Dance Programmes, Stage, Television Feature Films, and Videos on Digital Platforms.

In addition to the award categories, the festival also organizes professional seminars to improve professional quality and adapt to digital transformation in the television sector.

The 42nd National Television Festival is not only an event to honour outstanding works but also a space for television professionals to learn, share and develop together.

With a variety of activities, from award ceremonies, seminars to exhibitions, this year's event is truly a professional playground, contributing to improving the quality and position of Vietnamese television in the era of digital transformation and integration.
