Organised by the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), the event was attended by Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang; Trinh Van Quyet, the GDP’s Chief Senior Lieutenant General; and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister.

This year, the organising board received more than 400 works produced by 139 units in the whole military in four genres, namely: specific articles, reports, educational programs, and documentaries.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, the GDP’s deputy chief, highlighted the efforts, enthusiasm, passion, and political responsibility of reporters, editors, and technicians.

He lauded the organising panel for its objective and accurate evaluation, especially regarding social activities that left deep impressions on policy beneficiaries and local people in Military Region 1. Those practical deeds have contributed to strengthening the military-civilian relationship and enriching the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

This year’s entries vividly disseminated exemplary individuals in carrying out military and defence tasks; the studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style; building the Party; combating the "peaceful revolution" plot; responding to disaster and diseases; conducting mass mobilisation work; and the settlement of post-war legacy.

Gen. Minh asked agencies, units, and television workers across the entire military to continue to raise the quality of television works in terms of both content and form.

Works in the next time should focus on praising the image and qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and simple but noble exemplary people; popularising good initiatives, creative and effective models; reflecting the life of troops and activities of the armed forces; and contributing to encouraging officers and soldiers to successfully fulfil their assigned missions.

In acknowledgement of the festival’s success, the GDP’s Chief rewarded five collectives and eight individuals with outstanding achievements in organising the event.

At the closing ceremony, the organising panel presented 35 first and 59 second prizes to reports; 7 first and 14 second prizes to documentaries; 2 first and 4 second prizes to educational programs; and 18 first and 29 second prizes to specific articles.
