In pictures: Vesak 2025 honors message of love, wisdom, and tolerance

This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has hosted the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 and the fourth time this festival has been held in Viet Nam.

From early morning, thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists were present to express their respect to the Buddha.

At 6am, the main ceremony began in a respectful atmosphere.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration at Vietnamese National Buddhist Temple was the main ceremony, gathering monks, nuns, and Buddhists representing the Buddhist community throughout Ho Chi Minh City to attend.

Buddhists turned to the main altar, recite sutras, and prayed for national peace and world peace.

After the main ceremony, hundreds of Buddhists lined up on the altar to worship the Buddha.

Everything took place in an orderly manner.

The main ceremony on the morning of the 15th day of the fourth lunar month was the most important ceremony in the Buddha's Birthday week, which started from the 8th day.

This year's Buddha's Birthday week was held with a series of activities such as the Buddha procession, flower car parade, and the enshrinement of the heart relic of Most Venerable Thich Quang Duc.
