The Francophone Film Week is being held at Centaurus — one of the most modern multi-purpose complexes in Islamabad, Pakistan — from June 5 to 14.

Alongside the embassies of member countries of the Francophone community in Pakistan, including France, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Greece, Romania, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Pakistan selected Peach the film Blossoms, Pho and Piano for screening at the event.

The Vietnamese film Peach Blossoms, Pho and Piano was screened on the second day of the Francophone Film Week.

Speaking at the Vietnamese film screening, Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan introduced Peach Blossoms, Pho and Piano. He said that although the film depicts war and a particularly difficult period in Vietnamese history, it also reflects the beauty, culture, hopes, and aspirations of the Vietnamese people during their most challenging times.

The ambassador expressed his hope that the film would offer Pakistani and international audiences another perspective on Viet Nam — a country that loves peace, values its culture and traditional heritage, and always looks ahead to the future with confidence and optimism.

Many Pakistani and international viewers said they were deeply impressed by Peach Blossoms, Pho and Piano. They noted that even the film’s title was striking and appealing, as the three images of peach blossoms, pho, and piano blend together to convey the message that, even in wartime, the Vietnamese people continue to cherish culture, love, and aspiration while remaining optimistic about a brighter future.

The film left a profound impression on Pakistani audiences. On the occasion, the embassy also introduced several traditional Vietnamese dishes and provided guests with books, publications, and promotional materials showcasing the country and people of Viet Nam.
