Diverse cultural and artistic activities for National Day on September 2 in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of August 20, at a press conference on socio-economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City, a representative of the Department of Culture and Sports provided information on the organisation of activities to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945–2026).

Accordingly, the city will organise exhibitions to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945–2026) and National Day on September 2 at three locations: Dong Khoi Street (Chi Lang Park; the section from Nguyen Du Street to Le Thanh Ton Street, Sai Gon Ward); Nguyen Du Street Park (Thu Dau Mot Ward; and the Revolutionary Tradition House (No. 01 Ba Cu Street, Vung Tau Ward).

The city will also organise visits to cemeteries across the city, as well as incense-offering and flower-laying ceremonies in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.

Regarding cultural and artistic activities, Ho Chi Minh City will organise an art programme to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2026) at three locations: the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street area (at the intersection with Huynh Thuc Khang Street), Sai Gon Ward; the outdoor stage at the New City Central Park, Binh Duong Ward; and Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria Ward.

To mark the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the city will organise an artistic fireworks display (from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.) at seven locations, including three high-altitude and low-altitude explosive fireworks sites: the area at the entrance to the Sai Gon River Tunnel, An Khanh Ward; the New City Centre area, Binh Duong Ward; and Tam Thang Tower Square, Vung Tau Ward.

Four low-altitude explosive fireworks sites will be located at: Ba Ria Square Park, Ba Ria Ward; Dam Sen Cultural Park, Binh Thoi Ward; Saigon Marina IFC Tower, Sai Gon Ward; and Kim Long Villa Area (Rach Dia Bridge), Nha Be Commune.

In addition, the city will coordinate the organisation of an exhibition of documents and photographs at the City Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street, Sai Gon Ward); coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs to organise a reception for diplomatic missions and international organisations in the city to mark the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam; and organise physical education and sports activities to celebrate Children’s Olympic Day and summer sports activities across Ho Chi Minh City.

Many localities and organisations will also organise a range of activities, including the “Save Turtles Run 2026” on Con Dao Special Administrative Region; and the VnExpress Vung Tau International Half Marathon Herbalife Cup 2026.
