To promote sustainable tourism and effectively leverage cultural, historical, and natural heritage values, including the Bauhinia flower, the deputy PM urged Dien Bien to focus on several key tasks including developing tourism in a professional and modern manner, enhancing tourism quality and efficiency towards ensuring Dien Bien be a strong brand with high competitiveness, and promoting sustainable tourism, closely linked with the preservation and promotion of historical-revolutionary sites and ethnic cultural heritage.
Deputy PM Long also emphasised that to maximise natural and cultural strengths, Dien Bien should enhance cultural exchanges among ethnic communities and with other provinces nationwide; mobilise resources and encourage businesses and investors to participate in service sectors, infrastructure development, and tourism quality improvement; and protect and expand Bauhinia flower areas, linking them with forest conservation and ecological balance to support sustainable tourism.
In addition, Dien Bien Province needs to focus on developing distinctive tourism products, effectively leveraging traditional cultural values associated with the Bauhinia flower and creating opportunities for ethnic communities to participate in and benefit from tourism development activities. It is also essential to strengthen cooperation with provinces in the region and international partners to enhance the value and image of this kind of flower, thereby driving tourism development in Dien Bien as well as the Northwest region in general.
