The event is co-organised by The Initiative of Children's Book Creative Content (ICBC), and Kim Dong Publishing House, with the British Council in Vietnam playing a supporting role.

The UK Children's Picture Book Week is an initiative by the ICBC. The programme invites young readers and enthusiasts of children's literature, especially British children's literature, on a creative journey filled with the surprises of imagination and the magic of language. This journey features works by renowned British authors and illustrators such as Judith Kerr, John Yeoman & Quentin Blake, and Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler.

The event will officially open at 2:00 PM on March 21, with a series of activities, including art exhibitions, creative reading sessions, and thematic discussions.

All activities within the programme will be free and open to the public. Notable events include "A Date with Tiddler — The Great Storyteller" (10:00 AM on March 22), designed for children aged 5 and above; "Whispering Storytime — The Forgetful Cat" (10:00 AM on March 23), for children aged 3–8 and their parents; and a thematic discussion "Opening a Book — Helping Children Learn and Explore the World Through Children's Literature" (1:30 PM on March 22).

This exciting journey is guided by the resource pack titled "Reading UK Children's Picture Books with Me". This handbook provides reading guidance and designs creative activities based on outstanding picture book collections by renowned UK children's authors and illustrators, published in Vietnam by Kim Dong Publishing House. These collections include the works of John Yeoman & Quentin Blake (7 books), Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler (6 books), and Judith Kerr’s "Mog the Fat Cat" series (5 books).

This educational resource has been developed by the ICBC for parents, teachers, librarians, and caregivers. It is specifically designed for children aged 3 to 8 years old with the aim to facilitate reading activities and promote a strong reading culture at home, in schools, and in libraries.

The UK Children's Picture Book Week aims to foster the development of arts and culture in Vietnam while creating opportunities for collaboration with UK organisations, authors, and illustrators. Through various activities showcasing British children's literature, the program paves the way for future exchanges and partnerships in the field of children's books in Vietnam.
