The programme consists of two main activities, including an exhibition titled "The echo of the Great Spring Victory 1975 in cinema" and film screenings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition is scheduled to open on April 5 at the September 23 Park in Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing around 300 photographs selected from archived and collected cinematic materials. Additionally, the exhibition will feature images depicting the people, daily life, and the process of integration and development of Ho Chi Minh City.
The exhibition is divided into two main sections themed "Cinema and Historic Moments" and "Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City through the cinema". Through these cinematic works, the exhibition aims to deepen public understanding of history and to honour the immense contributions of filmmakers and artists during the war era.
The documentary and feature films on historic moments, revolutionary wars, social and cultural life will be screened in Hanoi from April 21-26 and in Ho Chi Minh City in April, spreading the historical and cultural values of the archived cinematic materials.
In addition to film screenings, the event will feature interactive sessions between audiences and filmmakers, cinema experts, and historical witnesses to shed light on the historical, cultural, and ideological values reflected in cinema. These sessions also provide an opportunity for younger generations to express their gratitude for the sacrifices of their predecessors and to enhance their awareness of the responsibility to preserve and promote the country’s traditional values.
