According to the provincal Department of Fishery Resources Exploitation and Protection, it is a Quan Dong sea turtle, scientific name - Cretta caretta, which is listed a rare, endangered aquatic species protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
The fishermen and authorities released the turtle back to the sea the same day.
