Construction of the factory, covering an area of 10 hectares at the Tinh Phong industrial zone in Quang Ngai province, is scheduled to start in late August 2011.
The US$14-million footwear factory has the capacity to produce 7-8 million pairs of shoes per year, earning an annual revenue of over US$15 million.
The factory is expected to create jobs for 5,000 workers and 2,500 local people once it begins operations in 2012.
This is the second project by Rieker Vietnam Ltd. The first was a footwear factory at Dien Ngoc industrial zone in Quang Nam province.
