On August 1 in Ha Noi, the Trade Promotion Agency, in coordination with the e-commerce platform Alibaba.com, held a conference entitled “Digital transformation application in developing export-oriented OCOP products.” This event is one of the key activities within the framework of the Viet Nam OCOPEX 2025 Export-Oriented OCOP Product Fair, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from August 1–3, 2025.
The conference aimed to support enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP entities in applying digital technology to promote their products widely, increase sales, expand distribution channels, enhance product value, and develop domestic markets while moving towards international markets.
As of July 2025, there are 17,068 OCOP products nationwide rated three stars or higher, belonging to 9,195 OCOP entities. Among them, 126 products have been nationally certified as five-star OCOP products. To date, many OCOP products have met the standards and regulations on quality and food safety; they feature diverse and environmentally friendly designs and packaging, in line with market demands.
However, the development of OCOP products still faces several limitations. Most OCOP enterprises are small and medium-sized, particularly cooperatives, with limited application of information technology, a lack of skilled human resources, and insufficient understanding of processes and regulations for trading on e-commerce platforms.

To successfully bring OCOP products to e-commerce platforms, presentations at the conference addressed a number of issues, such as: shifting consumer trends and the pressing need for change; challenges OCOP products face in accessing international markets, from compliance with standards to brand recognition; and proposed strategies for “digitising” local products.
