Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the efforts of Saint Petersburg, a heroic city of Russia and the first place in the country where President Ho Chi Minh set foot, for organising the Viet Nam Week for many years. He emphasised that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people always remember the valuable support and assistance of the former Soviet Union and today’s Russian Federation, including the city of Saint Petersburg, during Viet Nam’s struggle for national liberation and unification, as well as in its ongoing efforts to build and defend the country.

Tran Quoc Cuong, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, expressed his deep emotion at joining Saint Petersburg officials in commemorating the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh. He described Ho Chi Minh as a beloved leader, the Father of the Vietnamese nation, a national liberation hero, a distinguished cultural figure, a steadfast communist soldier of the international revolutionary movement, and a close friend and comrade of the Russian people and peace-loving people around the world.

He expressed hope that the relationship between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation in general, and between Dien Bien Province and Saint Petersburg in particular, would continue to grow stronger.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi stressed the significance of this commemorative event, which coincides with multiple major anniversaries: Viet Nam’s 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Russia’s 80th anniversary of the Victory of Great Patriotic War, and the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam–Russia diplomatic ties.

Do Xuan Hoang, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Russia, highlighted that throughout history, the brilliant personality of the great Vietnamese leader, President Ho Chi Minh, has remained ever-present. His life provides many timeless and globally relevant lessons.

The conference also featured various presentations affirming the stature, value, and enduring vitality of Ho Chi Minh’s legacy for both Viet Nam and the world. These discussions offered insights for creatively applying his thoughts in the modern era of national development.
