The world’s top 11 most beautiful terraced fields include those in Sapa, Vietnam; Douro, Portugal; Bali, Indonesia; Choquequirao, Pisác, Salinas de Maras, Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo in Peru; Longji and Hani, China; and Banaue, Philippines.
Earlier, Vietnam’s terraced rice fields in Sapa had been listed among the seven most beautiful and impressive terraced fields in Asia and the world, according to US Travel and Leisure Magazine.
The Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism announced a decision in early November to recognise the terraced fields of Sapa as National Heritage.
