Winners of poster, photo contest on environmental protection announced

NDO—The General Department of the Environment at the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 22 to honour the winners of the photo and poster contest on environmental protection.

The contest was held by the General Department of the Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, in coordination with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Global Environment Fund (GEF).

The contest aims to rekindle creativity and passion for arts while also increasing efforts to improve public awareness of persistent organic pollutants, hazardous waste and environmental pollution in Vietnam and the environmental protection measures known as the “3 Rs”—reduce, reuse and recycle.

From June 30 to August 30, the organising board selected 32 outstanding works from over 2,500 entries for teenagers around the country.

The first prize went to Dao Xuan Duc from Hanoi in the photo category and Tran Hong Thien from Ben Tre Province in the poster-drawing category.

The works of the first prize winners will be exhibited in Vienna, Austria.

In the photo category, the organsing board also presented two second, three third and fourteen consolation prizes, along with its two favourite works. In the poster drawing category, two second, three third and six consolation prizes were presented.
