It will also encourage individuals, organisations and enterprises to apply environmentally friendly manufacturing solutions, as well as honour those with models and products towards sustainable development.

The project will be carried out over the years with many activities, including organising workshops and seminars on environmental protection and sustainable development and launching a campaign to raise awareness for environmental protection.

There will be awards for individuals, organisations and enterprises with excellent achievements in this field.

At the project launching ceremony on April 20, a workshop on the carbon credit market in Vietnam was held.

According to the World Bank, Vietnam is one of the countries with poor management of plastic waste, and the amount of unrecycled plastic waste is equivalent to nearly 3 billion USD annually.

Vietnam has taken various measures to address the plastic waste issue, from enhancing awareness to perfecting the relevant institutions and the organisation of implementation.

However, this urgent issue requires cooperation and efforts from all walks of life.
