Animals Asia said the bear was voluntarily transferred to the state by its owner, who had reared the legally sourced animal since 2002.

After receiving the information, the rescue team worked with the Hanoi Forest Protection Department to take the bear to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park.

Since the start of 2024, the Hanoi Forest Protection Department has handed five bears over to the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre, raising the total number of bears rescued by Animals Asia in Hanoi since 2019 to 39.
