The project is being carried out as a main activity of the ‘Rhino Arts Week’ co-hosted by the Centre of Hands-on Actions and Networking for Growth and Environment (CHANGE) and the Nguyen Thai Binh ward People’s Committee.
The art week, which is part of the ‘End rhino horn consumption’ campaign, will last until January 15 with other activities aiming to raise public commitment to protect the rhinoceros from the risk of extinction.
It brings together 10 veteran graffiti artists including Trang Suby, Florian Nguyen and Danny Dao.
On January 12, visitors can witness the working process of the artists in transforming the walls into colourful artworks which also represent their opinions on rhino protection. They are also invited to leave their fingerprints on the wall as their commitment to safeguarding wildlife.
Another highlight of the event is an interesting game ‘Who Steals the Rhino Horn’, in which participants will act as detectives to follow clues hidden behind the 12 walls to find out the culprit.
The programme is expected to attract around 10,000 participants. After it is concluded, the 12 walls will be kept intact and are expected to become a tourist attraction for visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
