Nearly 2.4 million workers in Ho Chi Minh City receive support from Unemployment Insurance Fund

Nearly 2.4 million workers and 81,589 units in Ho Chi Minh City have been provided with cash relief totalling over 5.6 trillion VND (US$245.2 million) from the Ho Chi Minh City Unemployment Insurance Fund as of December 27.

This is the result of three months of implementing the Government’s Resolution No. 116 and the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 28 on supporting employees and employers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic sourced from the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

According to Director of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance Phan Van Men, the city's Social Insurance has stopped accepting applications for support from employees and is rushing to handle received dossiers in order to complete the payment of financial support to employees by December 31, 2021.
