[Infographic] Vietnam’s Group B fixtures in final round of 2022 World Cup Asian Qualifiers

Coach Park Hang-seo’s Vietnamese side will commence their campaign in the final round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers this September with an opening group match against Saudi Arabia.

According to the draw results unveiled on Thursday (July 1), the Golden Star Warriors will be joined by Asia’s top-ranked Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, China and Oman in Group B in their decisive battle for the country’s maiden place in the largest football festival on the planet.

Meanwhile, Group A brings together the continent’s second-ranked Iran, the Republic of Korea, the UAE, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

The 12 participating teams will play home-and-away round-robin matches, with the respective group winners and runners-up to be awarded direct slots for the global showpiece. The two third-placed teams will advance to the Asian playoff to determine which side will advance to the intercontinental playoff.
