According to Head of the Vietnamese delegation Maj. Gen. Pham Van Thai, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training under the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, the participating teams have paid special attention to pandemic prevention and control in order to ensure an absolutely safe training environment with the most stringent prevention measures.

All Vietnamese team members received two shots of COVID-19 vaccines and were fully provided with personal protective equipment and infection prevention supplies during the competition, he said.

He stressed the Vietnamese team’s preparations to participate in the Army Games 2021 received much attention and support from the leaders of the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Politics and other functional agencies so that the team were provided with most favourable conditions to bolster practice and sharpen their skills.

He also noted that soon after arriving in Moscow, the Vietnamese delegation has received the enthusiastic support of the host country and the Games’ organisers.

Participating in the Army Games provides a good opportunity for Vietnam to learn the training methods of the armies of other countries, he concluded.
