The participants will compete for 42 sets of medals, of which 22 will be for direct combat and the remaining 20 for performance events.
The six-day event will provide a chance to select the best athletes for national team, which will compete in the 27th Southeast Asia (SEA) Games being held in Malaysia in 2013.
Ho Chi Minh City claimed the top position at last year’s tournament and Can Tho finished the second place, followed by Ben Tre.
The annual event is held jointly by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Vovinam Federation and the Binh Thuan provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
