State Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with a delegation of outstanding ethnic minority representatives from Cao Bang Province, on November 24 at the Presidential Palace.

Praising Cao Bang’s socio-economic achievements in recent years, the Vice President noted that thanks to the Party and State’s policies and the efforts of local Party committees, authorities, and people, policies for ethnic minorities and mountainous ethnic communities have been implemented comprehensively and relatively, helping improve the living standards of local residents.

She stressed that achieving these results has been greatly supported by the core, reputable, and influential members of the ethnic minority communities, who act as an important extended arm of the Party and the State in building their homeland.

The Vice President underlined that the Party and State have long prioritised addressing development disparities among regions, localities, and ethnic groups nationwide. Therefore, with its existing potential and advantages, Cao Bang Province must continue striving to overcome challenges, narrow gaps, reach national and regional development levels, and successfully fulfil the tasks assigned by the Party and the State in the new situation.

She expressed her desire that every household in the province would have a safe, sturdy home capable of withstanding extreme weather; develop economic models that create stable jobs and incomes; and ensure sustainable livelihoods. She also hoped that people in every village and hamlet would have access to modern services in healthcare, culture, education and training, and public security, as well as transport and telecommunications infrastructure.

She expressed confidence that the outstanding delegates from ethnic minority communities would continue preserving their cultural identities; serve as exemplary role models in their communities; innovate communication and mobilisation methods to encourage compliance with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws; strive to escape poverty; improve their livelihoods; and keep pace with the development of their localities and the nation.

Ethnic minority communities in Cao Bang have actively participated in building clean, strong local Party committees, authorities, and political systems, becoming a reliable pillar for the people in socio-economic development in the new period.

Expressing gratitude for the Vice President’s time, Provincial Party Secretary and Head of Cao Bang’s National Assembly Delegation Quan Minh Cuong said that with the Party and State’s attention, the provincial Party organisation and ethnic communities have united, worked with determination, and effectively implemented political and socio-economic tasks. The province has also completed the restructuring of an efficient, streamlined apparatus and ensured stable operation of its two-tier local government model.

Acknowledging the Vice President’s instructions, Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong affirmed that the provincial Party organisation and local ethnic communities are determined to realise the goals and tasks set by the 20th Cao Bang Provincial Party Congress, meeting the expectations of the Party and State leadership and contributing to a more prosperous and developed Cao Bang.
