Developing artificial intelligence (AI) models in Viet Nam requires large volumes of high-quality and diverse data. However, harnessing this resource raises concerns regarding intellectual property rights and the scope of lawful use of protected content.

Deputy PM Ho Quoc Dung said the current priority is to change the mindset. AI should not be developed in isolation by individual agencies or organisations but through an interconnected ecosystem linking the State, universities and research institutes, and businesses.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha recently signed Decision No. 456/QD-TTg approving the project on building a data centre for the management, monitoring, and handling of violations and traffic management in the 2026-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
