Viet Nam has reaffirmed its position and long-term vision for sustainable development in the global coffee industry through its participation in Coffee Expo Seoul 2026, held at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Centre on April 15.

More than 60 Chilean enterprises have expressed interest in importing Vietnamese products, particularly rice, dried fruit, coffee, frozen seafood, and instant foods, during the international food and services fair “Espacio Food & Service 2025” held in Santiago de Chile.

The strong increase in world coffee prices has pushed domestic prices to a two-week high, reinforcing the market’s optimistic sentiment.

According to the Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Viet Nam was Thailand’s second-largest coffee supplier in the first seven months of 2025, reaching 5.63 thousand tonnes, worth 30.14 million USD.

Viet Nam’s coffee industry is experiencing a breakthrough year, with exports setting new records in both volume and value.

According to the Mercantile Exchange of Viet Nam (MXV), the global commodities market on September 2 showed clear divergence. While coffee prices dropped sharply, global oil prices continued to rise, reaching their highest level since early August. By the end of the session, the MXV-Index increased by more than 0.4%, reaching 2,248 points.

The global Halal market, catering to Muslim consumers, presents significant export opportunities for Vietnamese businesses, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, food, cosmetics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals.

Coffee has once again emerged as a star performer among agro-forestry-fishery exports in the first half of 2025, with both volume and value registering strong growth despite ongoing global challenges in supply and climate conditions.

Viet Nam shipped 6.28 billion USD worth of agro-forestry-fishery products abroad in May, propelling the cumulative total for the first five months of the year to 28.04 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 19.6% and 15.1%, respectively, heard a press conference in Ha Noi on June 3.

'Pho' (noodle soup), 'banh mi' (Vietnamese sandwich), 'Ca kho to' (Vietnamese fish braised in a clay pot), 'Lau ca tam' (sturgeon fish hot pot) and black coffee, along with several other dishes, have been listed by the world-famous culinary website TasteAtlas, among popular foods in the world in 2023.

The 2023 Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, themed "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of coffee worldwide", will take place in Buon Ma Thuot city and several other localities in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, from March 10-14.
