The ‘Accompanying Women in Border Areas’ programme, launched in 2018 by the Viet Nam Women’s Union in partnership with the Border Guard High Command, has delivered practical support to women and children in remote border regions. It has spread humanitarian and compassionate values across communities, consolidated the great national unity bloc, and reinforced a strong people-based border defence.

The Government of Ireland has announced funding of 1.4 million EUR to strengthen climate resilience and empower ethnic minority women in 13 communes across Tuyen Quang, Quang Tri, and Phu Tho provinces.
