Localities, ministries requested to prepare proactive response to storm Maysak

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defence on July 3 issued an urgent official dispatch urging northern localities, ministries and agencies to take proactive response to tropical storm Maysak, the first of its kind to enter the East Sea/South China Sea this year, and subsequent floods, as it is forecast to bring heavy rain and widespread impacts across the northern region.

Steadfast confidence in the face of all challenges

The recent spell of torrential rain and flooding that swept across the central region and the Central Highlands caused extensive damage. Persistent rainfall, far exceeding safety thresholds, led to rapidly rising floodwaters on already saturated ground, submerging many areas in deep water within a short time.

PM inspects post-storm recovery efforts in Gia Lai

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 13 inspected the situation and directed recovery efforts in the central province of Gia Lai following the severe impact of Typhoon Kalmaegi, which caused significant damage to housing, infrastructure, production, and livelihoods, particularly in coastal areas.
