During the years of the resistance war against the US, in response to the sacred call of the nation, tens of thousands of officials, intellectuals and artists from northern Viet Nam, as well as southern officials who had regrouped in the North earlier, set aside their family responsibilities and personal lives, leaving behind what they cherished most in order to head south and join the struggle.

In Pictures: “Leaving youth behind” to set out with faith in National Reunification

More than half a century has passed, yet 72,000 files and personal keepsakes of officials assigned to the B Front have been preserved intact as an inseparable part of the nation's history. The exhibition “Leaving youth behind” brings together both witnesses and historical artefacts, while serving as a bridge between generations and spreading the noble ideal of dedicating one's life to the homeland.
