The National Assembly (NA) on December 10 voted to adopt the law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on International Treaties, with 445 out of 448 participating deputies voting in favour, accounting for 94.08% of the total legislators.

The Law on International Treaties (2016) has played a crucial role in establishing the legal framework for the signing, accession, and implementation of international treaties, thereby enhancing Viet Nam’s credibility and standing within the international community. However, after nearly a decade of enforcement, the law now requires amendments and supplements to reflect the current realities.
