Today, many cooperatives and coastal communities are applying new technologies in marine farming, helping to improve productivity, product quality and household income.

Viet Nam holds significant advantages in marine aquaculture, yet this economic sector has so far developed below its potential. One of the key reasons for this situation is the slow and insufficiently coordinated application of science and technology.

With a long coastline, favourable natural conditions, and abundant marine resources, Viet Nam possesses a significant advantage in marine aquaculture. In recent years, the Government has introduced various policies aimed at removing bottlenecks and fully leveraging this potential, with the goal of developing a modern and sustainable marine aquaculture sector.
