General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam met with President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune in Vientiane on February 5 as part of his state visit to Laos.

On February 2, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba held a wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the park bearing his name in the capital city of Havana, marking the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (February 3, 1930 – 2026) and celebrating the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress.

On January 12, 2011, the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam officially opened. This was an event that left a strong imprint on the Party’s efforts to renew its leadership style during a period of profound challenges.

The 14th National Party Congress concluded with great success, deciding strategic directions for the country’s rapid and sustainable development in the period ahead. The Congress’s major resolutions have fostered strong confidence and expectations, while inspiring determination for action and a spirit of renewal among officials, Party members and people nationwide.

The 14th Party Central Committee held its first meeting on the morning of January 23. The meeting elected the Politburo, the General Secretary and the Secretariat of the new 14th-tenure Party Central Committee.

The 14th National Party Congress will take place in the capital city of Ha Noi from January 19 - 25, 2026, with the participation of 1,586 delegates representing more than 5.6 million members of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

The Central Steering Committee 35, which is tasked with protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and fighting wrongful and hostile views, held a conference in Ha Noi on December 16 to review its performance in 2025 and outline key tasks for 2026.

Viet Nam is soliciting input on the draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress, inviting intellectuals and overseas Vietnamese (OVs), including those in China, to weigh in on building a prosperous nation poised for a new era.

Giving feedback to the draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress, National Assembly deputy Trinh Thi Tu Anh from Lam Dong province noted that the draft Political Report marks a historic step forward, showing a fundamental renewal in both approach and structure.

Authorities at all levels, people from all social strata, intellectuals, artists, researchers, and officials, are actively providing feedback on the draft documents that will be presented at the 14th National Party Congress, with the promotion of Viet Nam’s cultural and human strengths in the new era among issues drawing great attention.

The Party committees and organisations must focus on preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, including refining the draft documents to be submitted to the 15th meeting of the Party Central Committee, based on feedback from all-level Party congresses, National Assembly deputies, intellectuals, scientists, and the public.

Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh granted an interview with Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the first Party Congress of the province, the 2025-2030 tenure.

Nguyen Van Phuong, former Secretary of the Hue city Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure, has been appointed Secretary of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee for the same term.

On October 15, the First Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2025-2030 tenure held its closing session.

Hoang Quoc Khanh, former Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee, has been appointed to join the Party Committee of Lang Son province and its Standing Board, and serve as Secretary of the committee for the 2025-2030 tenure from October 15, 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 15 attended and delivered a keynote speech at the 20th Party Congress of Thanh Hoa province for the 2025-2030 tenure, emphasising five key tasks for the local Party Organisation, armed forces, and people to focus on in order to achieve the set goals.

The 17th Congress of the Party Organisation of Hue city concluded on October 4, after successfully adopting key targets and electing new leadership for the 2025–2030 tenure.

The first congress of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure was a significant political event, marking a major turning point for the province following its merger. With the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Development”, Gia Lai has been laying firm foundations for its goal of becoming one of the fairly developed provinces in the country.

Policies and decisions adopted by the 12th Party Congress of the Viet Nam People's Army (VPA) for the 2025 – 2030 tenure provide important guidance for building a clean, strong, exemplary Military Party Organisation, and develop a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern people’s army, said Party General Secretary To Lam.

The first Party Congress of the northern province of Ninh Binh, the 2025–2030 tenure, took place on October 1, with Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of its Organisation Commission Le Minh Hung in attendance.
