Global gold prices on the afternoon of May 26 reversed course and dropped sharply to 4,521.5 USD per ounce, as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East heated up again. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars and rings both fell by 500,000 VND per tael, and were listed at 161.5 million VND per tael and 161 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices on May 6 rebounded strongly after a steep decline in the previous session, trading at 4,700 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars were listed at 163 million VND per tael for buying and 166 million VND per tael for selling, up 1 million VND per tael on both sides.

SJC gold bar and ring prices both fell sharply on the afternoon of April 24, in line with the global trend. SJC gold bars were quoted at 166.2 million VND-168.7 million VND per tael (buying-selling), down 500,000 VND from the previous trading session, while gold ring prices also dropped by 300,000 VND on both the buying and selling sides.

Global gold prices on April 11 continued to decline slightly amid pressure from a sharp rise in energy prices and geopolitical uncertainty, trading at around 4,748 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bar and ring prices both fell by 300,000 VND per tael, quoted at 172.4 million VND per tael and 172.1 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices on the afternoon of April 6 edged down to 4,699 USD per ounce, but still posted a second consecutive week of recovery. Meanwhile, domestic gold prices also fell sharply across the board. SJC gold bars were sold at 173.1 million VND per tael, down 1.4 million VND compared with the close of the previous weekend’s final session.

Global gold prices continued to surge on the afternoon of March 31, trading at 4,560.2 USD per ounce, driven by rising safe-haven demand amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Domestically, both SJC gold bars and rings increased by 1.1 million VND per tael, with selling prices listed at 174.9 million VND per tael and 174.7 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices rebounded on March 17, trading at 5,007.9 USD per ounce, amid signs of easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars and rings both edged down slightly, with prices quoted at 183 million VND per tael and 182.7 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices rose again on the afternoon of March 10, driven by strong purchases from central banks, trading at 5,185 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, prices of SJC gold bars and rings both increased by 2 million VND per tael, reaching 186.1 million VND per tael and 185.8 million VND per tael, respectively.

Gold prices on March 7 increased in line with the global upward trend. SJC gold bars rose by 1.2 million VND per tael compared with the previous day, trading at 182 million VND per tael (buying) and 185 million VND per tael (selling).

Gold prices on the afternoon of March 2 saw SJC gold bars and rings continue to surge, approaching 191 million VND per tael. Meanwhile, global gold prices rose to around 5,400 USD per ounce.

On the afternoon of February 25, the Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed its gold bar prices at 182.3–185.3 million VND per tael, up 700,000 VND compared with the previous day. This marks the highest level the precious metal has reached since the beginning of February. Other brands made similar adjustments in line with SJC.

SJC gold bars and rings continued to surge on the afternoon of January 21, breaking above 170 million VND per tael. Meanwhile, global gold prices jumped to a fresh all-time high, rising above 4,800 USD per ounce.

Global gold prices on January 16 slipped below 4,608 USD per ounce as strong inflows into equities cooled demand for gold. In Viet Nam, prices were temporarily steady as SJC bullion was traded at 162.8 million VND per tael, while SJC ring gold remained unchanged at 159.7 million VND per tael.

Domestic gold bar prices were fairly stable on January 3, trading at a high level. Specifically, SJC gold bars were quoted at 150.8–152.8 million VND per tael, unchanged on both the buying and selling sides compared with the previous afternoon. Meanwhile, SJC gold rings were traded at 145.9–148.9 million VND per tael (buying–selling), down 2 million VND per tael on both sides from the previous afternoon.

Global gold prices on December 17 rose again, trading at 4,320.1 USD per ounce after investors took profits in the previous session. In Viet Nam, SJC gold bar prices were unchanged on both the buying and selling sides.

On the late afternoon of November 27, the domestic gold market remained subdued following two consecutive sessions of sharp gains. SJC gold bars continued to hold above the 153 million VND per tael peak, while plain gold rings and jewellery recorded a flat trend in trading.

Domestically, SJC-branded gold bar prices rose by 500,000 VND, trading at 153.4 million VND per tael, while SJC-branded gold rings increased by 1 million VND to 151.5 million VND per tael.

Global gold prices on November 19 recovered after three consecutive declining sessions, rising to 4,088.9 USD per ounce. SJC gold bars and SJC gold rings also simultaneously increased again after nearly a week of falling and moving sideways, trading at 151.0 million VND per tael and 149.0 million VND per tael respectively.

SJC gold bar prices continued to fall sharply on the late afternoon of October 28. SJC listed gold bars at 143.1–145.1 million VND per tael, down 3.8 million VND on the buying side and 3.3 million VND on the selling side compared to the end of October 27.

In the domestic market, SJC gold bar and ring prices reversed downward on October 2, trading at 138 million VND per tael and 134.2 million VND per tael, respectively.
