National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on October 24 had a meeting with South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, who is on a two-day state visit to Viet Nam.
Viet Nam values its traditional friendship with South Africa, its close friend and first African partner with which it established a partnership for cooperation and development framework in 2004, State President Luong Cuong told visiting South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa during their talks in Ha Noi on October 23.
At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, President of the Republic of South Africa Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa is paying a state visit to Viet Nam from October 23 to 24, 2025. This marks the first visit by a South African head of state to Viet Nam in nearly two decades and serves as a historic milestone in the deepening and substantive enhancement of Viet Nam–South Africa relations.
The visit helped generate new momentum and strengthen the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and the DPRK, Vu said, noting that the two leaders spent considerable time reviewing the long-standing relationship, established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, and expressed mutual appreciation for the support provided to each other in the past.
