European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen, declared her determination to find a countermeasure for the challenges posed by the subsidy strategy for green technology from the US. The declaration reflected the efforts of the European Union (EU) to protect the interests and goals related to clean energy and avoid a "subsidy race" with the US in this area.

A ceremony was held in Le Thuy district of the central province of Quang Binh on January 12 to inaugurate the Son Thuy kindergarten and the medical station of Hoa Thuy commune, which were built at a cost of 700,000 USD in total provided by the US.

President Joe Biden has just announced new regulations, to find solutions for the massive influx of migrants into the US, a challenge that has plagued the administration since he took office in early 2021. Migration was also discussed at the ongoing North American Leaders' Summit (NALS) in Mexico.
