Tin Tuc daily marks 30th anniversary

The Tin Tuc (News) daily, produced by the Vietnam News Agency, held a ceremony on May 23 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first edition (May 14, 1983) and receive the Labour Order, second class, from the State.

The event was attended by former and current leaders of VNA, as well as representatives from various ministries and branches.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan also sent bouquets of flowers to congratulate the newspaper.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed the newspaper’s significant achievements in the past thirty years and praised its staff for continously improving the quality of the newspaper to meet reader demands in the country’s new development period.

He urged the staff to ensure the depth, orientation and multi-dimensional features of the information they produce in order to be worthy of its reputation as a leading newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency and the Government’s information channel.

In addition to daily and weekly print newspapers, Tin Tuc also features news online via its website: www.baotintuc.vn.

Over the past three decades, the newspaper has been trusted by readers nationwide to provide prompt and reliable information.

Issued primarily for disadvantaged, border and island areas, the newspaper focuses on informing the public about Party and State policies and Government guidelines related to economics, social affairs, and national security and defence.

The newspaper has served as a bridge linking the Northwestern, Central Highland and Southwestern regional Steering Committees with local authorities and people.

On the occasion, Tran Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Chairperson of the Central Council for Emulation and Awards, presented the newspaper with the Labour Order, second class.

VNA Deputy General Director Le Duy Truyen, who was the daily’s Editor-in-Chief from 2008 to 2012, was also awarded a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister.
