Top leader attends special art programme marking 55th anniversary of President Ho's testament

Party General Secretary and President To Lam attended a special art programme held at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on August 30 to mark the 55-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament (1969-2024) and the 55th death anniversary of the great President (September 2, 1969-September 2, 2024).

The event was co-organised by the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education and Vietnam Television.

The 90-minute programme featured documentaries and arts performances praising the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the land, people and culture of Vietnam.

The event recalled historical moments of the country’s history and affirmed the treasured values that President Ho Chi Minh's Testament in the great victory of the Vietnamese revolution over the past half century.

It also showed the audience the efforts, determination, and solidarity of the Vietnamese Party, army and people in realising President Ho’s testament over the past 55 years.

President Ho Chi Minh began writing his will in May 1965 and finished in May 1969 — four months before he passed away.

The testament was filled with President Ho Chi Minh’s devotion and love for Vietnam and the Vietnamese people. His thoughts and advice in the historical testament are considered as a torch to guide Vietnamese revolutionary cause.
