Having been held annually since 2014, the tournament has become a meaningful sporting event, creating a playground for U15 players of both countries to exchange their footballing skills.
This year’s edition saw the participation of four teams, namely U15 Hanoi, U15 Thanh Hoa and U15 Viettel of Vietnam and U15 Monolith from Japan, who will play in a round-robin format.
After the opening ceremony the match between U15 Monolith and U15 Thanh Hoa kicked-off, with the Japanese team beating the Vietnamese side 1-0.
The other match on the morning of April 2 between U15 Hanoi and U15 Viettel ended in a one-all draw.
The second round will begin with the match between U15 Hanoi and U15 Monolith on the afternoon of April 2, while the remaining matches of the tournament will take place on the following day.
A gala night will also be held for the participating teams on the night of April 2, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for the afternoon of April 3.
